I.

I’m happy to announce the winners of the August 2015 edition of Does My Blog look Good inThis (DMBLGiT)?
Let me start by saying a big thank you to all who participated and to Neel for giving DMBLGiT? a second lease of life, and not in the least to my judges Alessio, Simi andSimonefor helping me pick the winning entries.
As you all know, the winners of DMBLGiT? are chosen in the three categories of originality, aesthetics and edibility.
Each judge scores the submissions individually and while their personal preferences of the winning submission might differ from the other judges’ scores, the final winners are decided by compounding the scores of all three judges.
From these scores 6 winners are chosen in all – the first, second and third overall winners and one winner in each individual category based on the highest points they score in those categories.
These overall winning photographs got the highest combined scores in all three categories (edibility, originality, and aesthetics)
Overall 1st Place.

Green Tea from **Meena of Elephants The Coconut Trees.
What the judges said – “Gorgeous light, beautiful steam.
Simple, linear and effective. Nice use of dramatic lighting.
Love the choice of mug – it’s a fabulous image.
The way the leaves swirl around in the glass, the light coming from the back.”
Overall 2nd Place.

Avocado MintLimeade from **Sujatha of Spice ‘n Treats.
What the judges said – “Beautiful vibrant colours.
Minimalistic and very strong image.
Placement of props and very striking image.”
Overall 3rd Place.

The dark and moody feel of the image here makes it very appealing for a relatively hard dish to photograph. Really well done.”
