Apple and Cheddar Cheese Sandwich

A hearty, filling and satisfying sandwich made with multi-grain bread, thinly sliced apple and Cheddar cheese, onion, mustard honey sauce and fresh oregano.

  • 1 large apple
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 1 1/2 tbsp mustard Dijon or English
  • 1 1/2 tbsp honey
  • 1 small onion sliced thin
  • Sharp Cheddar cheese slices or shaved
  • 4 slices multigrain bread
  • butter optional
  • Fresh oregano
  • Freshly crushed pepper to taste


  • Core the apple and slice it thin. Toss it in the lime juice and keep aside. Mix the mustard paste and the honey till smooth. Adjust with more honey or mustard to suit your taste.
  • You can lightly butter the bread slices if you like. I don’t. Place two slices of bread on a board or plate. Place the apple slices on both, equally divided. Then arrange the cheese. Top with sliced onions and then drizzle the mustard honey sauce over this. Add the crushed pepper and then add the fresh oregano. Top with the remaining slices of bread. Your sandwiches are ready. Enjoy!
