Crispy Halloumi Fingers
A very easy appetizer, snack or side dish recipe for Crispy Halloumi Fingers spiced with cumin seeds and red chilli flakes.
- 300 gm Halloumi cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds coarsely crushed
- 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes
- Oil for frying
Cut the Halloumi into 12 thick fingers. They will be slightly damp.
Mix together the flour and spices in a shallow bowl. You don’t need to add salt as the cheese is salted. Toss the fingers in the flour making sure they’re well coated.
Pour enough oil to cover the base of a largish frying pan. Heat the oil, over medium heat, to cover the base of a largish frying pan over a medium-high heat. Working in 2 or 3 batches, fry the floured halloumi fingers till golden brown and crisp. Remove and drain on kitchen paper.
Serve warm with dipping sauce.
