In a Nutshell - CLICK : December 2007 Nuts

When I first came across food blogs, I was struck by the beauty of the pictures on some of them. When I started my own blog, one of the things I aspired to (am still working on it) was to be able to have good pictures accompanying my recipe posts.
I saw the CLICK theme (Noodles) last month and had no plans whatsoever to send in a picture. It just happened that we were having rice noodles for breakfast one morning, and it “clicked” that I should take a picture and send it in.
When I saw this month’s theme was “Nuts”, it was a different story. I wanted to make an effort and come up with something to send in. It helped that post-Diwali, nuts (of the botanical kind) were available in plenty in my kitchen. I chose the pistachios in their shells.
Over the last 2 months, I have been struggling with reading up (and some lessons from my nephew who is studying Visual Communications) and trying to figure out DOF, composition, white balance, etc in an attempt to come up with near to decent pictures.
For this event, I must have taken oodles of pictures. There were some decent ones, composition wise, but the light wasn’t always right thanks to rains. Guess what, it’s been raining here for the last 5 days! We don’t normally see rain in Kochi at this time of the year!!
I have finally decided to send this one.
